Dear Friends,
We are pleased to share a new program of IFHNOS with you. It was discussed during the last GC meeting and many of you had inquired about the progress of that discussion.
Standardization of good surgical technique throughout the world, adhering to the principles of Surgical Oncology is crucial. With that focus, IFHNOS introduces a New Program of, “Master Courses in Operative Techniques in the Head and Neck Surgery”. These hands on courses with Live surgery, and didactic presentations, with sequential operative steps and videos, of proper operative techniques will be given by Global experts - Master Surgeons - in a 3 day program in any part of the world. The focus of this program would be on proper oncologic, safe and clean surgical techniques, their indications, pearls and pitfalls, and complications etc. The procedures most commonly shown would be neck dissection, thyroid surgery, parotid surgery, and other demonstrable surgical procedures in the head and neck. The afternoon sessions would be didactic talks or videos, and the mornings would be live surgery. Exposing head and neck surgery trainees and ‘eager young specialists’, to good techniques in Head and Neck Surgery, and sharing experiences and wisdom of world leaders and established teachers of head and neck surgery, will have a huge impact in uplifting head and neck cancer care and on the patients they serve.
